New Wonderland
New Wonderland is a Mind Twist Cafe concept. Besides exotic dining the space offers a range of (mind twisting) experiences curated by specially invited artists, architects, life-coaches, creatives, etc. It's a traveling event, each time created from scratch by new curators. So every event is a unique manifestation of the minds of these curators. Hence, the name New Wonderland. Visit the website for more information.

At Wonderland 01 I was asked to do performance art inspired by the the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. As this time keeping character I didn't carry a watch but painted a yellow timeline throughout the entire space of 400m2. During the four days of the event the line went through five rooms on walls, floors and ceilings adding up to more than 160 meters.

Pirate Art by KunstForeningen
Sculpture by the Sea is a traveling exhibition, placed on the coastline of Aarhus during the summer '09. A couple of friends (a toolmaker and a gardener) and I discussed the quality of the exhibit after a relaxed Sunday afternoon attendance. Some of the work was interesting, but most appeared pointless and cheap. We ended up with an all-time cliche: Any sculpture could make an exhibition like this one. Taking this thought further we decided to place our own sculpture on the coastline. While molesting some sausages from the grill, we transformed an old bike and some rubbish into pet vulture and put it up with a sign similar to those of the exhibit.

Our effort were noticed by the exhibition audience, and a few days later Politiken (a Danish newapaper) brought a quarter page picture and a few paragraphs reporting of the "pirat art." All centered on page two of section two - Cultural Content.

Since the name KunstForeningen (which roughly means The People's Art Movement, with the proletarian ring to it) had reached potentially 450.000 readers, we decided this would be our founding. The aim is to portray pompous art, bad advertising and everything in between in (what we think are) their true colors //

Helvetica Kills
Tobacco Packaging Warning Messages in the shape of bold typography in a black frame allegedly is very effective, since they are preferred all around the world. Being a sceptic I decided to put it to the test by creating stickers in the same shape and copy, only replacing the word smoking (or any inflection of it) with Helvetica. If spreading this message causes a decrease in the use of this frequently seen typeface, I'll start a Tobacco Packaging Warning Message Appreciation Society.

So far the stickers are spread across four european countries (in four languages) - I've taken pictures of it with my cellphone camera and It turned out to be very cool graphic imagery. To make use of it I've created posters and other print material //

Brand Bust by KunstForeningen
DSB (The Danish State Railways) has for some years been under heavy critique for frequent delays, poor service and rapidly increasing ticket prices. On the other hand, their advertising campaign depicting the conflict between two co-workers, the railway loving Bahnsen and the declared motorist Harry (A red haired and purple fured toy creature) has been loved by the danish population for decades.

When KunstForeningen got our hands on a full size Harry doll at Roskilde Festival '09, we thought what more perfect way to illustrate the true nature of DSB. Harry off pupblic duty, rampaging at a festival known for hardcore partying. We documented his inappropriate behavior and notified the press:

Politiken.dk is a heavily trafficked site among the Danish online news media. The audience is generally younger than that of the daily paper and their street-art blog is well beloved and visited. On several occasions I've received links to the Harry post from people who didn't know of my involvement //
